About Me

“Find a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”

York University | Toronto, Canada (2005 – 2007)

My passion for events was discovered while I was pursuing an undergrad degree at York University (Toronto) where I was greatly involved with the student club activities. After volunteering with the Indian Students Club for a year I became a part of the management team taking on the role of a Marketing Director, responsible for promoting the events we organized. The following year I obtained the title of President for the Indian Students Club, which I successfully ran for one year. I was responsible for building a team from scratch and developing this team to successfully deliver our objectives.

We took our events to another level by bringing a renowned DJ, having a large number of stage performances and hosting the event at a prime venue on campus (The Underground) for the first time. The event was a smashing success. We also organized movie nights, club nights, membership drives, end-of-the-year retreats and festive events (Holi).

Under my leadership, the Indian Student Club won the Best Club at the Multicultural Week event.

My work as President of the Indian Students Club got me an Honorable Mention Award at the Student Centre Leadership Award at York University. This is given to students for their exceptional contribution and leadership skills in building strong and inclusive communities within the university.

Kamikaze Events | Dubai, United Arab Emirates (2008 – 2014)

Inspired from my passion for events, in March 2008 I started an event management company in Dubai – Kamikaze Events.  Kamikaze Events was a full service event management agency with a focus on corporate events. We organized numerous conferences, seminars, award ceremonies, inaugurations, launch events, team-building events and much more.

Services we provided included stage management, entertainment including DJ & MC, decor, audio visual, gift bags, hostesses and ushers, structures including tents & furniture and more as required.

We worked with some of the best companies in the region including Emirates Airline, Jotun Paints, John Crane, GlaxoSmithKline, Alokozay, Travel Port, Dubai Sports City, BabyShop and more.

Flash Entertainment | Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (2014 – 2020)

A promising opportunity to work on some of the worlds largest events led me to accept a job at Flash Entertainment in Abu Dhabi. Flash Entertainment is a key partner in the development of Abu Dhabi’s entertainment scene and was created to encourage tourism to the region. Flash produce their own events and partner with government entities to organize events on their behalf.

While at Flash I got to manage many large-scale and high-profile events including the Special Olympics Opening ceremony, concerts with Bruno Mars, tennis with Rafael Nadal, childrens events like PAW Patrol Live, community events like Winterland Carnival and more. My role on these events was overall project management including overseeing event logistics, marketing & communications, operations, sponsorship, ticketing, venue management and more.

Having joined Flash in May 2014 as a Project Associate, I was promoted twice during my 6 years at Flash (Jan 2018 to a Senior Project Associate and Jan 2020 as a Project Manager).

York University | Toronto, Canada (2020 – 2022)

After moving to Toronto to pursue my immigration, I started working as an External Events Coordinator with York University’s Development and Advancement team. My role was to organize events that engage external audiences, including alumni and donors with ties to the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.

In 2021, I got the opportunity to make an internal switch to Senior Planner for Alumni Events where I planned, managed and executed high-quality and engaging events for the York U President, Dean, campus partners and alumni engagement.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, most events were being executed virtually on Zoom (Meetings & Webinars). My portfolio of events include webinars, on varying topics, with York alumni in leadership positions, the York U Alumni Awards, donor events and speed mentoring & networking events with York alumni and current students.

Proof Experiences | Toronto, Canada (2022 – present)

Looking for a chance to work on bigger events, I joined Proof Experiences as a Supervisor in the Conference & Events department in May 2022. I was assigned to the Intuit account where I helped create employee experiences to smoothen the transition of Intuit’s office from suburban Mississauga to downtown Toronto. I led the organization of the Intuit TurboTax Fan Jam featuring Toronto Raptors superstar, Fred VanVleet. I also worked on a conference for Nestle Purina.

The first half of 2023 kept me busy with a 4-city conference for accountants (Get Connected by QuickBooks), following which I got promoted to Director, Conference & Events. I continue to work on the Intuit account along with some occasional events for other clients like RBC and Home Depot.

As a Director of Conference & Events at Proof Experiences, I have spearheaded the end-to-end management of events for prestigious clients such as Intuit Canada, the Government of Canada, Nestlé, Home Depot, and RBC. These events encompassed diverse formats, including conferences, public-facing events, employee engagement activities, virtual events, and marketing activations. My role demanded meticulous event planning, budget oversight, and seamless logistics, and I collaborated extensively with internal teams, suppliers, partners, and clients to ensure maximum event exposure and impact.
